In compliance with DigiYatra privacy-by-design principles, there is no central storage of personally identifiable biometric data (PII). Passenger biometrics are stored locally on their own mobile devices in an encrypted format. During travel, the data is shared temporarily with the airport's local departure system only for the duration of transit and is automatically purged from the airport's local servers within 24 hours of flight departure.

If the central server connectivity is lost, individual e-gates and biometric touchpoints can continue to operate using locally cached flight manifests and credentials for a limited time.
